Jackie Joyner-Kersee visits Normandy students

Six-time Olympic medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee, who is originally from East St. Louis, dropped by Jefferson Elementary School in Normandy this week. She signed and donated 200 books to students from kindergarten to third grade. She read from her book, "Jackie Joyner-Kersee Running for Gold: Connecting Kids to Dreams" and students presented her with a gift. Art teacher Theresa Hopkins also gave a gift to the three-time gold medalist.
