In 2022, YWCA received a five-year National Program of Excellence accreditation from the National Head Start Association. It's the only YWCA in the country, and the only Head Start program in Missouri, to receive the honor.
YWCA also received a four-year national accreditation from the Council on Accreditation. YWCA Metro St. Louis received an expedited accreditation as an Outstanding Provider.
Accreditation is an objective, independent and reliable evaluation of an agency's performance, involving detailed review and analysis of an organization's administration, management and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. In 2022, YWCA Metro St. Louis served more than 10,700 women and their families through support services and rapid rehousing for women who experienced sexual and/or domestic violence. YWCA Head Start supplies early childhood education.
