For food banks, Giving Tuesday is Giving FoodsDay

Giving Tuesday is generally about donations of money to organizations that serve the community, but for food banks, the day is for more than just money. For food-centered organizations such as Operation Food Search, Giving Tuesday is also Giving FoodsDay where they collect both funds and food.

Operation Food Search is hoping to raise $30,000 with help from ELCO Chevrolet Cadillac, which is matching up to $15,000 in donations. You can do three things on Nov. 29 to help Operation Food Search meet this ambitious goal:

  1. Donate any amount. Thanks to ELCO Chevrolet Cadillac, your gift will be doubled.
  2. Share Operation Food Search's crowdfunding page (still to come) with family and friends.
  3. Post an "unselfie" telling your friends why to support Operation Food Search. Take a photo of yourself holding a note or sign that tells your followers who you're supporting for Giving Tuesday or Giving FoodsDay.

Operation Food Search will share more as Giving FoodDay gets closer. Check for updates at operationfoodsearch.org. You can also follow them on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to stay up to date on their news.
