Featured Partner: Operation Food Search

The Community Impact Network is proud to announce that Operation Food Search has been selected as our Featured Partner for the month.

Operation Food Search has been a powerful ally of the Network and our community. Operation Food Search was an integral part of our Covid-19 Response Task Force.  Together, early in the pandemic, we were able to distribute more than 200,000 meals to families in our community that met the emerging immediate need for food.   With the passage of the Cares Act and allocation of funds from the County, Operation Food Search has continued to address food insecurity across the county and worked directly with the Network to address food insecurity here in the Normandy Schools Collaborative Footprint.

We continue to work side-by-side with Operation Food Search as they tirelessly fulfill their mission of addressing food insecurity by providing food to our community at the United 4 Children PAQ centers, the Normandy High School, and the St. Louis Public Library.

Operation Food Search has also committed to work with the Network to continue to provide the following programs throughout 2021.

•        Operation Backpack, a weekend food assistance program for Normandy Schools Collaborative elementary students

•        Normandy High School’s Nutrition Ambassadors Program, a group of students trained to provide healthy cooking demonstrations and education about healthy eating on a budget to their peers, faculty, and community members and

•        Fresh Rx:  Prescribing Healthy Futures, an innovative program that provides food, nutrition services, and case management assistance to Normandy families with chronic health conditions

While there is light at the end of the tunnel, many families in our community are still suffering due to the pandemic. Through their hard work and dedication, Operation Food Search allows us to maintain our hope as we wait for that light to shine brightly on us. Thank you, Operation Food Search.
