The City of St. Louis and St. Louis County Health Departments, together with the Regional Health Commission (RHC), St. Louis Integrated Health Network and Alive and Well Communities have joined forces to undertake a unified communications and outreach campaign geared toward the most vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this campaign is to help stop the spread of the coronavirus
and to help under-resourced community members survive the shutdown by providing information on vital resources. The initial phase of outreach for the campaign is targeted toward people of color,
particularly African Americans and low-to-moderate income residents living in the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County. Zip codes with the highest poverty rates
(including parts of 63103, 63102, 63103, 63106, 63107, 63108, 63110, 63112, 63113, 63115, 63120, 63113, 63133, 63136 and 63147) have been selected for street canvassing and targeted mobile outreach. In these areas, the campaign will send canvassers to community hotspots that remain open for business during the region’s shelter in place orders. Hotspots may include grocery and convenience stores, gas stations, pharmacies, health centers, laundromats, check cashing businesses, liquor stores and other places as needed.
