A message from NSC:
First, thank you for your support during this extremely challenging time. We appreciate everything our community is doing to rally behind our students, staff and families. Below is the latest update that went out to families and staff Sunday night. I have also attached an updated flier for our Grab & Go meals, and a PDF version of the information below. Feel free to forward this information to your constituents and stakeholders, or direct them to our Coronavirus Information section, www.normandysc.org/covid19.
Again, thank you.
Updates on NSC Chromebook Distribution, Grab & Go Meal Schedule
PHASE 2 - DISTRIBUTION OF CHROMEBOOKS
To support virtual/remote learning for our students, families who do not have devices at home will be able to check out district Chromebooks (one per family). There is a $25 deposit required for Chromebooks (covers insurance for the device in the event of loss or damage to device).
Deposits must be made online. Sign up at the Normandy Technology page: https://fs12.formsite.com/6FWYsm/fcuvvgrstz/index.html
For the device pickups, parents will remain in the car and the devices will be brought to the car.
Devices must be picked up by enrolling parent/guardian with proper identification.
Once the deposit is made online, Chromebooks can be picked up at Lucas Crossing School Complex, 7837 Natural Bridge Road, on the following dates/times:
Wednesday, April 1, 11 am -1 pm
Thursday, April 2, 12 noon - 2 pm
Friday, April 3, 11 am - 1 pm
Our current curriculum and lesson plans have a virtual component that will allow students to access materials online.
Teachers will use district-issued email and Google for Classroom accounts to communicate with students.
Teachers will reach out to parents (either via email or phone) to assist families with assignments and if using the online option, to help with login.
Teachers will also be available during regular school hours to answer questions or provide assistance if needed.
For those families who prefer paper copies of the assignments as an option, we will also print out assignment packets by grade level and send it to you via mail or email. Please email us at ejackson@normandysc.org or fgordon@normandysc.org with the name of your student, the school they attend and their grade.
MEALS FOR STUDENTS
Meals Available Monday, Wednesday & Friday: We are changing the schedule for the student Grab & Go meals. Normandy will continue to provide grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches for students. Meals will be dropped off with students/families at bus stops throughout the district (see attached revised schedule) beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. The revised bus drop-off schedule will go into effect Wednesday, April 1.
Meals will also be available at drive-through pickup locations at each school (except CASA) between the hours of 11 a.m. & 12:30 p.m., also on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
PLEASE NOTE: Students can get meals for the days without drop-offs. For example, on Monday, families can get meals for Monday and Tuesday (on Wednesday, pick-up for Wednesday and Thursday, etc).
